SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai signed an Memorandum of Understanding with IndiaFIRST® Robotics Innovation and Research LLP for establishing Centre of Excellence in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of the girl students studying at the University.
It is the endeavor of IndiaFIRST® Robotics Innovation and Research LLP as well as SNDT Women’s University to create a platform for the girl students Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, an engineering college withing the campus of the University to innovate and create solutions for the betterment of the society and industry.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Shashikala Wanjari and Dr. Ashish Panat, Director, Department of Innovation, Incubation and Industry Linkages inaugurated the Centre of Excellence in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence on 14th February 2020. Hon’s Principal Dr. Sanjay Pawar too graced the occasion with his presence and guidance.
IndiaFIRST® Robotics has established the state of the art Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Lab at the SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai within the campus of UMIT College of Engineering with an investment of Rs. 20 Lacs. This state of the art lab consists of various equipments like:
- SCARA Robotic Arm
- 4 Axis Robotic Arm
- Conveyor Belts
- Slide Rail Kit
- Vision Kit for Robotic Arm
- Computer Vision Kits
- Drones with Camera
- Mechanical Robotics Kits
- Embedded Systems Kits
- Internet of Things (IoT) Kits
- Micro-Controllers
- Sensors
Several projects are being planned for execution by the students and the successful students shall receive an opportunity for incubation of their innovative ideas.
The girl students of UMIT – CoE shall be provided technical skills on state of the art technology. Various Skill Development Programs and Value Added Programs are being planned for the students to prepare them for the future career and placement opportunities.
